Hemimorphite Ring

Hemimorphite is an intriguing mineral, a hydrated zinc silicate, often captivating with its botryoidal, stalactitic forms, or crystalline crusts. Its delicate shades, ranging from sky-blue and blue-green to white and colorless, are highly prized.

The name 'hemimorphite' derives from the unique property of its crystals, which exhibit different terminations at opposite ends (hemimorphism), also accounting for its pyroelectric and piezoelectric properties. 

Thanks to its appealing colors and unusual aggregate forms, such as fan-shaped druses or spherulites, hemimorphite is a sought-after specimen for mineral collectors and is occasionally used to craft small cabochons or as a decorative stone.
