Moonstone is a magical mineral, a precious variety of feldspar (orthoclase), famous for its unique optical effect - adularescence. This gentle, mystical glow, similar to moonlight, occurs due to the scattering of light between microscopic layers of different feldspars (orthoclase and albite) inside the stone. It is this ethereal glow, which seems to float below the surface, that makes moonstone so desirable in jewelry and collecting. Its name is directly related to this magical shine.
Since ancient times, moonstone has been used to create jewelry, believing in its connection with the moon and attributing to it the properties of a talisman, granting good luck and emotional balance. Although we appreciate it primarily for its natural beauty, this rich history gives it a special charm. The palette of moonstone is diverse: from classic milky white and gray to delicate shades of blue, peach, pink, sometimes even greenish.
The most valuable are specimens with a bright blue glow on a transparent or translucent background. Often the stone has inclusions or internal structures that give each specimen uniqueness. Although moonstone is not the hardest mineral (6-6.5 on the Mohs scale), with careful treatment it is perfectly suited for creating elegant jewelry - rings, earrings, pendants, often in the form of cabochons, which best reveal its beauty.
Moonstone is a choice for connoisseurs of refined beauty and the mysterious radiance of nature.
